Hi! My name is André Moreira, I’m a clinical psychologist and researcher, with a master’s in Neuropsychology and Health Psychology and a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto.
From early on I developed a particular interest in the areas of trauma, grief, clinical sexology and couples therapy, which led me to invest consistently in my specialised training. Along this path, I completed a Double Specialisation in Clinical Sexology and Couples Therapy, and I also became a Victim Support Technician.

Based on these areas of specialisation, I work mostly with issues related to trauma, grief, anxiety, sexuality, relationships, couples therapy, obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression.
I believe that our experiences deeply shape who we are, and that the way we build and tell our story, to ourselves and to others, has a central impact on psychological well-being and on interpersonal relationships. In this sense, my main therapeutic approach is cognitive-narrative, focused on exploring personal narratives, identity and the processing of life experiences. I complement this perspective with cognitive-behavioural approaches, adapting the therapeutic process to each person’s specific needs.

In sessions, I favour an informal, transparent and collaborative stance, seeking to create a safe, authentic space tailored to each person, so that the therapeutic process is truly meaningful
